Cornea Center of Excellence Visiting Professor Lecture Series
This series draws distinguished faculty from around the country. Cornea fellows present interesting cases within the visiting professor’s area of expertise, with live patient examinations. And later, the visiting professor presents a lecture.
Pediatric Ophthalmology Visiting Professor Lecture Series
This lecture series invites faculty who are leaders in the field of pediatric eye disease and strabismus, to raise awareness of the speakers’ works and establish productive interactions. The visiting professors give lectures and interact with faculty, residents, and students.

An annual event, featuring the Harvard Visiting Professor Lecture and Claes H. Dohlman Visiting Professor Lecture.
Paul A. Chandler Visiting Professor Lecture
This annual professorship was established to honor the exceptional teaching, research, and service of Dr. Paul Chandler during his tenure at Mass Eye and Ear, where he mentored two generations of ophthalmologists interested in glaucoma.
Boston International Visiting Professor in Cataract, Cornea, and External Eye Diseases
Biennial event, featuring a internationally acclaimed professor in the field of cornea. This lecture series is presented in collaboration with VA Boston Healthcare System, Harvard Ophthalmology Cornea Center of Excellence, Boston University School of Medicine Department of Ophthalmology, and Harvard Ophthalmology.
Frederick A. Jakobiec Lecture in Ophthalmology
Established to honor the academic leadership of Frederick Jakobiec, MD, DSc, the Henry Willard Williams Professor of Ophthalmology, Emeritus, and Professor of Pathology, Emeritus at Harvard Medical School.
C. Stephen and Frances Foster Lecture in Ocular Immunology
This lecture was established in honor of Dr. Foster’s groundbreaking work in ophthalmology, especially his research and treatment of ocular inflammatory disease (OID) with immunomodulatory therapy.
Schepens Eye Research Institute of Mass Eye and Ear Distinguished Lecture Series

This series features about eight lectures per year and invites today’s foremost scientists from around the world to present their current research to the scientific community.

New Frontiers in Corneal Research
Second Tuesday of each month, 5:30pm

This seminar series uncovers current limitations in the treatment of corneal diseases and the translational research underway Department-wide that aims to overcome them. Presentations are given by a clinician scientist team based on topic. The target audience includes clinical fellows, postdocs, junior faculty, and medical students.
Genetics and Regenerative Medicine of Eye Disease
Third Wednesday, September-June, 4pm
Meltzer Auditorium, 3rd floor, Mass Eye and Ear, 243 Charles Street, Boston
This series is jointly organized by the Harvard Ophthalmology Ocular Regenerative Medicine Institute and the Ocular Genomics Institute. It addresses topics in genetics, gene therapy and regenerative medicine relevant to ophthalmology and beyond. The seminars feature a scholar of international reputation for a one hour presentation following an introduction by the faculty host. On occasion, the organization may schedule a Late Breaking Seminar session to highlight recent publications and innovations in the field.
