Team Eye and Ear has raised more than $8.4 million to benefit patient care and research at Mass Eye and Ear. Join us for the 129th Boston Marathon presented by Bank of America on Monday, April 21, as we continue our run for patient care and research at Mass Eye and Ear.
As a member of Team Eye and Ear, you will raise hope for a healthier future for people everywhere who suffer from debilitating conditions affecting sight, hearing, voice, balance, taste and smell, and cancers of the eye, head and neck.
- Guaranteed race entry for the 2025 Boston Marathon®. ("Invitational Entry" Runners only.)
- Team kick-off and celebratory events
- Access to an exclusive marathon training program and clinics, specialty designed for Mass Eye and Ear by Team Coach Fred Treseler to help you get from Hopkinton to Copley Square. The program is customized to benefit anyone, from first-time runners to veteran marathoners. Training program highlights include weekly group runs, exclusive training clinics and detailed daily manuals.
- A designated team cheering section along the marathon route for your friends and family.
- Fundraising and training tools and support through workshops, one-on-one coaching, the Team Eye and Ear online fundraising resource library, team e-newsletters and more. You will also have the opportunity to set up your own personal website, where you can share your story and securely accept online donations.

Invitational Entry runners do not have to meet the time requirements set by the B.A.A.
- Make a personal fundraising commitment ($8,000 or more) to be completed by May 19, 2025. If the fundraising commitment is not met, you agree to pay the balance yourself.
While the required fundraising minimum is set at $8,000 per runner for invitation entry, preference will be given to applicants who are willing to commit to a higher fundraising commitment of $10,000 or more. In 2024, Team Eye and Ear invitational entry runners raised an average of $12,000 each. - Submit a non-refundable $100 deposit and credit card number upon acceptance to the team. This deposit will apply toward your fundraising goal.
- Pay the Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A) $395 race application fee in addition to the fundraising minimum.
- 18 years of age or older by April 21, 2025.
- Capable of running a marathon in less than six (6) hours
Runners who have received an official Boston Marathon bib number from another source are encouraged to join Team Eye and Ear.
- Raise a minimum of $1,500 by May 19, 2025, to support Mass Eye and Ear or pay the balance in full yourself. While the required minimum is set at $1,500 per runner, we will work with each team member to set a personal fundraising goal.
- Submit a non-refundable $100 deposit and credit card number upon acceptance to the team. This deposit will apply toward your fundraising goal.
