Sinus and Nasal Disorders
Problems with the nose and sinuses make people feel miserable. Our team of physicians has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of sinus and nasal disorders using both medications and surgery. When needed, we use endoscopy during the office visit to provide the most accurate diagnosis and develop the best possible treatment plan for our patients.
Throat Disorders
Throat disorders can have a substantial impact on quality of life, causing pain, or making it difficult to breathe, swallow or speak . In some cases, simple throat symptoms can have serious causes, such as benign or malignant tumors. Our laryngologists are specially trained to evaluate throat disorders thoroughly and to develop effective treatment plans. When necessary, office endoscopy is performed to better assess the causes of these symptoms.
Head and Neck
The head and neck area has a wider variety of potential masses and tumors than anywhere else in the body. Sometimes, problems such as cysts and infections can be treated quite simply. However, sometimes even a painless lump in the thyroid or neck can be serious. Our experienced physicians provide a thorough evaluation and consider a wide range of diagnoses; if the problem turns out to be serious, we provide expert surgical care. Dr. Brian Park, our fellowship-trained head and neck oncologic surgeon, works in partnership with Mass General Hospital radiation oncologists at Newton-Wellesley Hospital and medical oncologists at the Newton-Wellesley Vernon Cancer Center to treat these more serious disorders.
Cosmetic and Reconstructive Facial Plastics
Cosmetic
Cosmetic procedures are designed with the individual in mind. Mark Rounds, MD is a fellowship trained facial cosmetic surgeon committed to creating a natural and individual result for each patient.
Facial anatomy is complex, with minute and delicate movements that communicate our feelings. It is important that your surgeon has expertise and experience in each surgical technique. Understanding the aging process and how the passage of time will affect surgical wrestles is a critical part of how Dr. Rounds approaches his treatment.
Reconstructive
Trauma, surgery or illness can affect the face, both in appearance and in function. Dr. Rounds has the experience and expertise to reconstruct facial structures to optimize functionality and comfort with one’s appearance.
Dr. Rounds is board certified in both Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, which provides critical expertise in rebuilding facial structures and reshaping them to help return to one’s original appearance.
