Services
Comprehensive Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose and Throat)
Mass Eye and Ear, Weymouth specialists diagnose and treat pediatric and adult conditions of the ears, nose and throat. We offer a wide range of services to adults and children including the diagnosis and treatment of common problems such as chronic sinusitis, sleep apnea, snoring, tonsil and adenoid disorders, chronic ear infections, thyroid and parathyroid disorders and head and neck masses. Common ENT services for children and adults include hearing loss, medical treatment of nose and sinus disease, voice disorders, speech and swallowing problems, and all common ear problems including balance disorders.
Sinus Conditions
Our ear, nose and throat specialists provide care for the full range of nose and sinus conditions for adults and children. Our services include care for nasal obstruction, acute and chronic sinusitis, smell and taste loss, nosebleeds, septal perforation and pain and headaches related to the sinuses.
Allergies
Our specialists provide care for patients suffering from environmental allergies. Patients reap the benefits from our understanding of the relationship between allergies and sinonasal function. We offer comprehensive evaluation for allergic disease, including skin testing for environmental allergies. Patients who do not respond to first-line treatment methods may explore our immunotherapy program, which offers both conventional allergy shots and sublingual drops to serve the unique needs of each patient.
Sleep Apnea and Snoring
Our sleep specialists treat patients for a range of sleep disorders including obstructive sleep apnea and snoring. Obstructive sleep apnea is a common condition that causes brief interruptions of breathing during sleep; it is often characterized by loud snoring. Treatment options include surgical procedures, CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure machines) and oral appliance therapy.
Tonsil and Adenoid Disorders
Our specialists treat patients for a wide range of tonsil-related issues, including infections and lesions of the tonsils and adenoids. We provide surgical and non-surgical treatment for both children and adults.
Ear Infections
In Weymouth, we treat adults and children suffering from chronic ear infections, including infections in the external ear canal (commonly known as swimmer’s ear) and the middle ear, using a variety of surgical and non-surgical treatment methods.
Thyroid and Parathyroid Disorders
We offer diagnosis and treatment plans for patients suffering from thyroid and parathyroid conditions. Problems of the thyroid and parathyroid glands are common and can dramatically affect quality of life. Our physicians have extensive experience with a variety of these conditions, including thyroid nodules, goiter, thyroid cancer and hyperparathyroidism. We offer compassionate, expert surgical care when surgery is necessary.
Head and Neck
We provide care for patients suffering from head and neck masses. Often, these are problems that can be treated quite simply, for example, if the patient is suffering from cysts or infections. However, sometimes even a painless lump can be serious. Our physicians thoroughly evaluate each patient to give an accurate diagnose; if the problem is more serious, we provide expert surgical care when necessary and a multidisciplinary approach in partnership with neighboring hospitals.
Audiology (Hearing Care)
The audiology services offered at Mass Eye and Ear, Weymouth provide comprehensive, state-of-the-art hearing health care to people of all ages, adults to infants, including ABR/Newborn hearing screen tests. Every patient is unique, and every situation demands careful evaluation and application of the most appropriate technology.
We provide a full range of hearing tests to evaluate hearing loss and help patients decide if hearing aids are the right solution for them. We also offer hearing aid selection and fitting and help patients become accustomed to their hearing aids.
