In 2011, Mass. Eye and Ear joined forces with Schepens Eye Research Institute to create the world’s largest and most robust basic and clinical ophthalmology research enterprise. This collaboration will ultimately help translate bench-to-bedside research into better treatment and new cures for blinding diseases.

Powerhouse in Vision Research

Basic research at Schepens Eye Research Institute and clinical research at Mass. Eye and Ear are enriched by each other’s respective strengths. Working together, they provide a strong basic and translational science engine with a powerful clinical team that is primed to find cures for blinding eye diseases.
