Mass Eye and Ear Opens New Audiology Practice in Salem, Mass.

The new practice is located within Spaulding Outpatient Center Salem and is the hospital’s 23^rd suburban center.

Salem, Mass. – Mass Eye and Ear celebrated the opening of its newest audiology practice at 35 Congress Street in Salem, Mass., this month. The practice is the hospital’s 23^rd suburban center designed to bring the world-class expertise of Mass Eye and Ear specialists to the surrounding greater Boston area.

Mass Eye and Ear, Salem is located within a state-of-the-art facility inside Spaulding Outpatient Center Salem, which is in Shetland Park in downtown Salem. The practice provides comprehensive hearing health care to people of all ages—ranging from infants to adults—and offers the full range of diagnostic tests and technology needed to help patients determine the hearing health interventions best suited to their needs.

“Providing accessible, convenient and specialized care to communities across Massachusetts is an integral part of the Mass Eye and Ear mission, and I am proud to extend our world-class audiology services further into the North Shore suburban community,” said Meaghan P. Reed, AuD, CCC-A, who is director of Clinical Audiology at Mass Eye and Ear and will oversee audiology services at the new practice. “The practice’s mission is simple: We want to use the best available techniques—whether they be simple or complex—to improve your hearing.”

The audiologists at the practice include Heidi J. Leonard, AuD, CCC-A; Weining Fu-Feng, AuD, CCC-A; and Alexandra Shevelyok, AuD, CCC-A, all of whom are nationally-certified and state-licensed audiologists within Mass Eye and Ear’s Department of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery. Together, they provide the communication needs assessments, hearing device selections and device fittings needed to support the short- and long-term rehabilitative and educational needs of patients living in the North Shore.
