The Department of Nursing at Mass. Eye and Ear is a team of collaborative, service-oriented individuals, striving together to provide compassionate high-quality, evidence-based, specialty nursing care to our patients and their loved ones. We are driven by the belief that quality nursing care arises from the clinical application of evidence-based practice. Our goal is to walk alongside and assist our patients and their families on their journey to reach their best possible level of health and independence.
We recognize excellence in our nurses through the international DAISY Award Program, which celebrates the extraordinary clinical skill and compassionate care given by nurses every day. We also bestow annual Norman Knight Awards for Clinical Excellence, Leadership and Scholarship.

Mass. Eye and Ear is a very rewarding place to work. In the words of one of our pediatric nurses:
"I have been working here in pediatrics for 13 years, and I’ve never been so proud to be part of a team of nurses. [They] are knowledgeable, compassionate, positive and willing to go above and beyond to make everyone’s day brighter. I have been asked in the past, 'Why Mass. Eye and Ear?' My response has always been, 'Because I work with the best team!' A day never goes by that you don’t hear: 'Are you okay? ... What can I do to help you? ... Is there a busier day you need me to switch to? ... How about I take that report so you can have lunch? ... It seems really busy—I’ll stay later or come in earlier. ... You did a great job with that patient and family!'"
We are proud to work in Nursing at Mass. Eye and Ear!
